State of the Geof: Year 28

Twenty-eight years ago, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Knoxville, TN, I was born. Sorry for taking so long, Mom. [I've been told that it was 0300; I don't know if it was that on the dot or not. I'm not sure that Mom cared what minute it was after what I've been told was 18 hours of labor.]

This 28th year has been an interesting one for me professionally. I’ve done a lot more of the business side of work in the last year, and I can credibly say that, in year 29, I will serve as both a project engineer—a role I’ve performed for a while but haven’t really had as a specific job title, but now I have the proposal documentation to prove it ;)—and as project manager. It still makes my head spin at times, but I enjoy it.

[Really, I do ... as much as I may have complained if you've talked to me in the last month or so, well ... complaining is how I cope and blow off steam. I really do still love what I do; if I didn't, I'd be miserable.]

What I’m hoping for in having made it through 28 years is a little more balance in this 29th trip around the sun. You can take that to mean so many things, dear reader, and nearly all of them are correct.
