GNM: Matt Costa, Unfamiliar Faces

My purchase of this record is the result of two forces:

  1. Friend-to-friend filesharing. [I'm not outing who lent this to me.] But for music that I enjoy from this friend-to-friend filesharing, I go off and … :gasp: … buy the record. I look at this no differently than a friend lending me a CD to listen to for a while, provided that I do the right thing at the end of the listening period. [And if I don't like it? I delete the files.]
  2. Matt Costa allowing taping of his concerts. The show I listened to the other night reminded me just how much I liked the guy, so what happened? I bought this record and Songs We Sing.

Now, tell me again, RIAA, why you abhor these practices en toto?
