Lenders were threatening to sell directly to Wall Street unless Fannie bought a bigger chunk of their riskiest loans." One reason I had no problem with the bailout was because I knew that bad public policy had allowed it to happen in the first place. When government makes a mess, it should clean it up. [And come on, y'all ... pure profit players will always do the greedy thing. Always.]
