"Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin blamed her failure to come up with a single newspaper that she reads or a Supreme Court decision that she disagrees with besides Roe v. Wade on — you betcha — the media.
"Her interview with CBS’s Katie Couric, where she stumbled on those questions, was widely mocked, though her performance in Thursday’s vice-presidential debate was generally well received. In the wake of the debate, she granted an interview to Fox News where she tried to explain what happened in the interview with Couric.
“'Honestly, the Sarah Palin in those interviews is annoyed,' the Alaska governor said. 'No matter what you say, you will get clobbered on the answer. If you choose to pivot and go to another subject you think Americans want to share about, you get clobbered for that, too. But in those… interviews I felt a lot of things that she was missing in terms of an opportunity to ask what a vice presidential candidate stands for, what values are represented.'” O,FFS!!!

"The system, by definition, will always contain a measure of knaves and fools, because it’s populated by instances of homo sapiens. Thus, it has to be regulated to keep it running. Thus, the current meltdown is a failure of regulation and nothing else. The long term solution has to be about regulation too." Bravo, Tim.
