[Insert pithy commentary here.] Too hot for wittiness. Bring on the new music.
- Feist’s The Reminder.
Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black.- 28 Sep 2000 [Nantes, France] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
5 Dec 2001 [Detroit, MI, USA] concert bootleg of Wilco.- 1 Oct 2006 [St. Louis, MO, USA] concert bootleg of Son Volt.
17 Oct 2006 [Portland, OR, USA] concert bootleg of The Decemberists.
22 Oct 2006 [New York, NY, USA] concert bootleg of Beck.
Feist’s Let It Die. A solid record. Four stars.- Keane’s Under the Iron Sea. I didn’t think that this was going to be all that great, but it turned out very well. Four stars.
- 28 Feb 2000 [Seattle, WA, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith. Pretty decent for an ES recording. Three stars.
- 26 Sep 2001 [Washington, D.C., USA] concert bootleg of Wilco. This just felt … flat. But under the circumstances—two weeks after 9/11—it’s understandable. Two-and-a-half stars.
- 29 Oct 2005 [Las Vegas, NV, USA] concert bootleg of The Decemberists. Better than I expected for an outdoor show. Three-and-a-half stars.
- 14 Jan 2006 [Chicago, IL, USA] concert bootleg of Jeff Tweedy. These house shows aren’t that much fun to listen to, mainly because the crowd does a disservice in singing along. Two-and-a-half stars.
- 13 Oct 2006 [Nashville, TN, USA] concert bootleg of Beck. It’s a great-sounding live recording, if you like recordings with raucous crowds. I don’t always, but this crowd is a lot of fun.
