Okay, so it took me all the way until now to get this done, but hey … I brought in a new roommate on Sunday and then promptly went to Texas for the next three days.
Alli Rogers’s Always Eden.- 18 May 1997 [Boulder, CO, USA] concert bootleg of Wilco. Two weeks in a row, listening to a show a decade after it was first released.
- 11 Feb 2006 [San Diego, CO, USA] concert bootleg of Jeff Tweedy.
- 16 Apr 2007 [Brisbane, Australia] concert bootleg of Wilco.
- 30 Apr 2007 [Raleigh, NC, USA] concert bootleg of Andrew Osenga.
- 30 Apr 2007 [Raleigh, NC, USA] concert bootleg of Derek Webb.
- 30 Apr 2007 [Raleigh, NC, USA] concert bootleg of Sandra McCracken.
Last week was pretty good; the albums were great, and the bootlegs were okay.
Jeremy Casella’s Recovery. Admittedly, I’m a sucker for any album that thanks me in the liner notes.
That said, this is one of the best albums I’ve gotten this year. Top three, right up there with the M. Ward stuff. FIVE stars.
Alli Rogers’s The Day of Small Things. I somewhat impulsively bought all three of Alli’s discs when she was touring with Derek, but … I think I made the right call. I just like her sound. Four stars.- 9 May 1997 [San Francisco, CA, USA] concert bootleg of Wilco. It’s a solid recording, especially given that it’s a decade old. Three stars.
- 8 Apr 2006 [Chicago, IL, USA] concert bootleg of Jeff Tweedy. The second disc is the best of the three. Three stars overall.
- 18 Apr 2007 [Melbourne, Australia] concert bootleg of Wilco.
- 26 Apr 2007 [Lynchburg, VA, USA] concert bootleg of Sandra McCracken. Unfortunately, the sound environment wasn’t conducive to taping. Two stars.
- 26 Apr 2007 [Lynchburg, VA, USA] concert bootleg of Derek Webb. See above. In a non-rock situation, this probably sounds better. Been there, Richard. Two stars.
