Seriously, though -- LinkedIn is pretty much the only &quot;social network&quot; site that I&#039;ve actually stuck with. It&#039;s also gotten me some serious business networking contacts and job leads here and there.

I was pretty excited about Orkut in its early days, mainly because it was a product of Google. But it seemed like they never scaled it to acceptable performance levels, and the UI design needed a good overhaul, so I gradually stopped making time to visit. There just wasn&#039;t anything to keep me coming back.

At least with LinkedIn, you have an easily updatable online resume that you can point people at.</description>
