Most of the Way Home
Well, I’m at a Ramada west of Chattanooga, most of the way back home from the ATL. Did I expect to get this far? Nope. I pulled off at three separate exits on 75 to stop, but never found anyplace open. And heck, I think this is the only hotel of the six at this exit on I-24 that had any vacancies. No matter … they have a bed, a bath, a TV, and an open wireless network.
Now we’ll see how quickly I wake up … I should be far more tired than I am right now, what with the 5 hours’ sleep of last night combined with the 4 hours’ driving yesterday and more than that today, but … well, I almost drove home in frustration. [Why not? Well, if you've ever driven US 72 between Chattanooga and Huntsville, you know that it's pretty ... rural. On an interstate corridor, I'd have regular opportunities to pull over for caffeine or hotelspace, but not on that road.]
Okay, must go to bed.
