Gosh, this week has kicked my ass. On with it.

• 29 Aug 2006 [Nashville, TN, USA] concert bootleg of various members of the Square Peg Alliance. The last of three such shows I attended and recorded in August.

Yep, that’s it. Last week was Square-Pegriffic as well:

• 27 May 2006 [Boston, MA, USA] concert bootleg of Brandi Carlile. I grabbed this for my friend Brandi, and she was too kind to tell me that it sucked. I won’t judge Brandi Carlile by this absolutely horrid recording. One star.
• 22 Aug 2006 [Nashville, TN, USA] concert bootleg of members of the Square Peg Alliance. Another great show, one that gets four stars on the whole.
• Chris Mason’s Songs One Through Six. Andy O said to me that he really feels like Chris has grown as both a writer and a musician. I agree with that take. I give this three-and-a-half stars.

Unfortunately for me, my bootleg stash is piling up. [Let's just not talk about it, folks.] I already know what I’ll listen to next week, and it mainly involves the recordings I did on Tuesday at Sandra’s show and Hem’s new album, Funnel Cloud. Speaking of Tuesday, man … I have to thank the sound board op [whose name I will learn, I know, because the Pegs play Mercy Lounge a fair amount] who put up with me being really needy—Can I get a board patch? Can you get me some power? Oh, I’m a moron and can’t set up my equipment. How about a pony?—and was generally just awesome. I was essentially one huge board feeding newb, and he very graciously put up with me.

Of course, I better get to work on that bootleg before the hordes beat down my door …
