Okay, I Think That This Web 2.0 Thing Can Die Now
I had someone tell me this morning that a bunch of the sites that I run “are very Web 2.0ish”. I think that this was supposed to be a compliment.
Frankly, nothing that we’re doing is anything we couldn’t have done four years ago. We are breaking very little, if any, new technical ground.
I mean, I think that I was getting el softo soapo, but … ugh.

Bittorrent wasn’t around 4 years ago, was it?
July 12th, 2006 at 10:01BitTorrent appears to have been around in 2003 [from what digging I can do in two minutes on Wikipedia], but I also wouldn’t call it Web anything.
I got a clarification after this post that my “design” stuff looked Web 2.0. That made me laugh.
July 12th, 2006 at 10:23I feel like we’re in the dotcom bubble again the way web 2.0 is being thrown around.
The technology is not new (late ’90’s), but apparently the marketing is.
