This is where I take a moment from the general frivolity here to entreat you to support Rick in his charitable endeavor:
On May 13th, I will be part of the Mississippi State Alumni Association team in the Huntsville Great Strides walk to help raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research. When they talked me into doing this, they asked that I simply find one person to donate and that would be great. I was hoping to do that and a bit more, and I thought that you, our beloved readers would be able to help in this endeavor.

Thanks for doing this! As I mentioned when I e-mailed you the reminder about it, I’ve received pledges and/or donations totalling over $260 and our team of approximately 10 people has raised over $3100! Wayne Madkin, our team leader, has brought in over half of that
I guess being a former MSU quarterback has its advantages when trying to raise money!

So we had Chris Rock as our QB for a few years… so what!
We gave him a hard time while he was there because we were spoiled and thought that anyone would have to be better than him. We didn’t realize that consistent winning seasons and bowl games is pretty darn good in college football. The last four years have really made me appeciate those first few years of MSU football that I was exposed to.
… or the rampant rumors of him dating the coach’s daughter …
