As I’m about to head to Portland, I’m using the occasion to go nuts with a bunch of Elliott Smith. And I mean a bunch …
- Roman Candle.
- XO.
- Figure 8.
- 17 Sep 1994 [Portland, OR, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
- 1 Dec 1994 [Scottsdale, AZ, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
- 12 Apr 1997 [Princeton, NJ, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
- 17 Apr 1998 [Washington, DC, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
- 16 Sep 1998 [Seattle, WA, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
- 22 Mar 2003 [Solana Beach, CA, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
Last week was another in a series of attempts to get caught up on my bootleg backlog:
- 3 Feb 2006 [Portland, OR, USA] concert bootleg of Jeff Tweedy. A great show [although the crowd talked their heads off; Jeff cussed them out in a funny bit only in hindsight]. I gave it four-and-a-half stars because of Jeff’s energy/hatred.
- 12 Sep 1998 [Lawrence, KS, USA] concert bootleg of Wilco. This gets three stars, mainly because the audio quality goes to crap for the last half of the boot.
- 24 Mar 1994 [Chicago, IL, USA] concert bootleg of Uncle Tupelo. Four-and-a-half stars; definitely at the peak of UT in my book.
- 15 Oct 1967 [Detroit, MI, USA] concert bootleg of Cream. Four-and-a-half stars; seriously, seriously on that night.

Because I’ve got four new albums that I really want to listen to that I didn’t get to touch until yesterday, I’m declaring this the GNM entry for this week and next:
Bruce Springsteen’s We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions
