Another week, another set of bootlegs …

• 24 Feb 1991 [Boston, MA, USA] concert bootleg of Uncle Tupelo.
• 11 Jun 1992 [St. Louis, MO, USA] concert bootleg of Coffee Creek. Coffee Creek was a side project of Jay, Jeff, and Mike from Uncle Tupelo with Brian Henneman of the Bottle Rockets joining them. Fun stuff; they only played four shows, but I’ve got my hands on two.
• 12 Aug 1998 [Hoboken, NJ, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith.
• 5 Mar 2005 [Chicago, IL, USA] concert bootleg of Jeff Tweedy.

Last week was chock full of bootlegs, too. No new music; no, I haven’t bought the new Caedmon’s album. Not sure that I will, either. I’ll take a free copy, but … I’m unsure that I want to support this … dreck.

• 1991-02-16 [Columbia, MO, USA] concert bootleg of Uncle Tupelo. Overall, four stars … “Discarded”, “Outdone”, and “Gun” were good cuts, and the few cuts I wasn’t thrilled with seem to be covers.
• 1992 Demos of Beck. Both of ‘em were kinda … rough. I mean, I know that they’re demos, but … dang. Three stars; the “Loser” demo does redeem it.
• 1996-03-06 [Columbus, OH, USA] concert bootleg of Elliott Smith. This got three stars from me; it felt like Elliott was just really subdued. No energy from him or the crowd. Such is the peril of a singer/songwriter, I guess.
• 1997-02-15 [New York, NY, USA] concert bootleg of Wilco. Ahhh, the “Deli Tray Incident” show. Great show. Four-and-a-half stars. Wicked aweseome.
• 1999-07-25 [Chicago, IL, USA] concert bootleg of Jeff Tweedy. A good four-star effort here. The “New Madrid” cut is killer, but then I love that song.
• 2003-07-23 [Athens, GA, USA] concert bootleg of Modest Mouse. Three-and-a-half stars. I’m not sure I’d shell out big bucks to see these guys live. They make fun albums, but their live shows seem … hit-or-miss.
