Only Five Shopping Days Left!

I got my first birthday present of the Year 27 Celebration Season today, Toad the Wet Sprocket’s Fear. [I have plenty of friends who are Toad fans. I fear that this will lead to a TtWS CD-buying spree. ;) ] This reminds me that I have not done my annual whoring of myself posting of my Amazon wishlist.

I broke it up this year into two lists: one for the music I’d like to have, and one for everything else. As always, there’s no requirement to buy me a thing: your love is more important than anything on either list.

If you’re needing my address or phone number for birthday-related purposes:

158 Stone Meadow Ln
Madison, AL 35758

Fear is a fan-damn-tastic album. Once you’ve listened to it for a few weeks, get Dulcinea (assuming you don’t already have it). At first you won’t like it, but after 4-5 listens it sinks in and it actually a better album than Fear.

I’m still hot and cold on their earlier albums (Bread and Circus and Pale).

  2. Noah:

I agree that Dulcinea is probably their best album taken as a whole, but I think Fear has Toad’s best songs (“Walk On The Ocean,” “Before You Were Born,” “Pray Your Gods,” “I Will Not Take These Things…” etc).

But yes, to love Toad will be to want to get more Toad. =)

    Uncle Tupelo: Anodyne
    Disclaimer: The Airbag’s Lipstick Kiss
    Derek Webb: Mocki…
