Being a Good Customer

If you’ve ever wondered why I babble about WordPress or other things I care about so much, BeConnected’s Eight Ways to Be a Good Customer will explain it fairly succinctly.

I wish more people would do this with [rocksmyfaceoff.net]. I guess I spent enough time in the sportswriting game to love, love, love feedback, so I know that I should give it, too.

I realize you weren’t specifically talking about WordPress with this. It’s worth mentioning, though, that it goes a long way toward soliciting things like links when the provider doesn’t secretly use its user’s links as a way to sell stealth ads on their site. My first reaction when I saw that story was to remove every hyperlink to wordpress.org I could find on my site. I still haven’t put them back.

That being said, I have to admit it’s not like I was being a particularly good customer even before then. In a way, you could argue that if more of us contributed, they might not have felt it necessary to do that. *shrug*

Yeah, well, I think that issue’s been fixed. I’m giving Matt the benefit of the doubt for one mistake made in a time of strife. He does it again, though …

Anyhow, I’ll be continuing to do this. I have a new opportunity to be pimping a vendor’s new product soon … and that’s all I can say right now. :)
