I’m sure that some people shake their heads and wonder, “Why in the world would Geof write an entry about something as mundane as a haircut?” The answer’s pretty simple: I let myself get caught up in life and go almost three months without having one.
Getting Things Done is all about getting thoughts out of your head and onto someplace you can regularly review. I endorse the concept; I’ve been drinking the Kool-Aid in some ways for some time, but I’ve never fully grokked it. I’m at a point in life, for a variety of reasons, where I’m ready to do it, though.
This humble Weblog has always been, in some ways, a record of such things. It matters to me.
Viva le difference.

I’m reading the exact same book right now. Work has been so hectic and I’ve had so many church/ministry/social commitments (this, and a more restrictive policy at work have led to my near absence on the .net) that I can’t afford to not manage this stuff anymore.
I’m just afraid it won’t take long for my “mind like water” to start getting muddy…
Ironically one of the things I need to “get done” is finishing that book.
I’m quite clear—and was before I got to Part 2—that the key to this is clearing decks and taking a couple of days to deal with absorbing all the info. I’m taking this evening to finish the book, and Saturday is going to be dedicated to working on some planning.
This books sounds exactly like something I need!
