NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement

Found: NFL Collective bargaining agreement for 2002-2008 seasons.

I looked this up because of words that the NFLPA is expected to file a grievance on behalf of Quincy Carter, who was recently released by the Dallas Cowboys after allegedly failing a drug test.

A quick find run of the term “drug” in the document didn’t clarify if the NFLPA would have any standing in pushing for Carter’s reinstatement. Also, as the story notes, “It’s unlikely the union would want Carter on the roster of a team that doesn’t want him, but it perhaps could seek compensation from an arbitrator. The union would have to prove Carter was released because of a failed drug test.”

I just don’t see this greivance going anywhere. NFL players have as much job security as I do, really—either of us could be fired at any time for any reason. [I'd prefer their severance packages to mine, though.]

Let us not speak of any Collective Bargaining Agreement, regardless of overall subject until the NHL has a new one!

Yeah, I’m urgently awaiting closure on the NHL side, but to be honest, I’m about 40% sure that there’ll be a full 72-game season next year.

Seems like all the analyst are less sure than you are. Most seem to think there will be no season at all. That would really suck, and it would really put a bad taste in my mouth for professional hockey, heck professional sports in general. I’m tired of athletes getting paid millions of dollars and whining about working conditions. They have what every kid dreams of and they bitch!
